I have proudly called District 2 my home for over 40 years. My family moved to this community when I was just 4 years old, and despite leaving to pursue my college education, I always knew I would return to the community that I call home.
My mother served as an elected official with multiple terms in District 2, and instilled in me the enduring value of community service. For the past three decades, I have actively contributed to District 2 as an educator, administrator, and community leader. With such a long-standing commitment to this district, I possess a deep understanding of the challenges we face.
I personally recall a time when District 2 thrived with community events, youth and senior programs, and not a single vacant lot on Del Paso Blvd. However, as a lifelong resident, I have also personally witnessed the challenges that have arisen, including homelessness, escalating crime rates, a decline in businesses, and a general sense of diminished safety in our community.
As an educator I firmly believe in the transformative power of education as a catalyst for change. I also recognize that to address the multifaceted issues confronting our community, that these issues must be addressed at a policy level. This realization, combined with my unwavering passion for serving our community, inspired my decision to run for City Council. Together, let us stand united, ready to make a meaningful difference in the place we all call home!

Kim's Priorities in District 2
Economic Development
My vision is to see District 2 as a vibrant and thriving community. I envision a district where there is access to affordable and nutritious food, safe and affordable housing, where businesses thrive, crime is low, the community has a better relationship with police officers, and residents feels safe and supported.
Safety and Wellness
District 2 has evolved over the years, facing challenges of high crime rates. Our community deserves positive change, and I am committed to bringing that change by focusing on essential businesses, safety, and overall well-being.
Housing and the Unhoused
Homelessness is a prevalent and pressing issue not only in District 2 but also statewide. As a dedicated public servant, I am committed to tirelessly working towards increasing housing affordability and advocating for the provision of supportive services to our homeless population.
